They tried to deliver the totally wrong product a full 25 days after ordered. Rejected. They then said they would quickly fix the problem as they had shipped the wrong item. But after 4 days they won't even talk to me, respond to my calls or my emails. Totally irresponsible. Would never recommend them to anyone. |

Est. Delivery time 7-14 days, received my vanity in 10. I was pitched a James Martin vanity by a local contractor with install for $3800. Instead, I purchased one from Max for $1900 + free shipping. Items arrived fast and in perfect condition. Very, very happy with my purchase. |

I purchased a kitchen table and chair set in March 2003 from Max and was very happy with the order. However, I did not order White Glove Delivery Service at that time. I placed an order this year for an entertainment center (a wall unit) and got the WGDS so that they would set it up for me. Here is the sequence of events for my current order. 5/11/09 Placed order. 5/31 Did not recv shpg notice yet. Submitted inquirey. 6/5 Notified that order was in warehouse and would ship in 2-4 days. 6/16 Still did not recv shpg notice. Submitted 2nd inquirey. 6/18 Recv'd identical notice that order was in warehouse and would ship in 2-4 days. 6/19 Questioned the delay. Max threw in free WGDS. 6/22 Finally recv'd shpg notice. 7/17 Called WGDS. Notified that the order was damaged in shipment. 8/1 Replacement items shipped. 8/13 WGDS unboxes everything only to discover that the 2 end Piers are from a dif wall unit. 8/19 Still waiting for replacement items. Wall unit is piled up in my LR. |

I rarely write reviews, but if I can stop just one person from going through what we've been through, it's worth it. We purchased a farmhouse table and chair set in August 2006. We moved into our house in November and were then able to put it together. Initially it appeared to be a great set, however, it has been just 9 months since we put the set together, and here's what's happened: Of the 8 chairs we purchased, only 3 are still in one piece. Our 35# 3 year old broke one while just standing on the chair. One has always had a cracked, shaky leg, and the others just literally fell apart (we are not big people). I called maxfurniture.com several times only to be told that the person I needed to speak to was on the phone with another customer (sounds familiar), and I never have received a call back. I have to admit being happy with the table, however, if I had intended to pay $1200 just for a table I might have looked elsewhere. I don't recommend anyone buy from maxfurniture.com |

I placed my order on February 16 of this year expecting delivery in 4 to 5 weeks. Well 8 weeks past and not a word on the status of my order, I sent an email requesting the status. This was ignored. So I called the following week requesting the status and I was told the service representative just stepped out, so leave a message. I left a message but again no return phone call. My second call generated a similar excuse about her being on the phone. Only when I threaten to cancel my order did I finally get to speak to a live person. It was then that I was informed the order will be shipped in early May. Well, it is the end of May and again not a word about the status of my order. Phone call again is ignored. This is enough BS! If this is how they handle their customers, tell me when they are having their going out of business sale. By the way, the web site is still showing this piece is being delay shipping until the first part of May. It doesn't say which year. |
